Welsh Cakes

This piece is  a quilt. The ingredients pictured are all  present in the recipe for Welsh Cakes. They are a cross between a scone and a pancake! Delicious! Growing up, I would always make these with my grandmother. She was born in Wales.

This project was an exploration into digital embroidery. I enjoyed the process of drawing the packaging. It was immensely satisfying to watch my drawing be sewn into fabric. I thought that a quilt would symbolize the joining of disparate things together. Like fabrics or ingredients.
